On 19th May at 6.30pm New Street Wine Shop will be hosting a Saint-Emilion Grand Cru wine tasting. Transport your mind to the prettiest of Bordeaux’s wine towns, perched on top of the steep limestone slopes upon which many of the region’s finest vineyards are situated.
During the evening, the sumptuous wines below will be matched perfectly with a selection of charcuterie and cheese. We will discuss the history of the city, wines, terroir, reputation and the classement of 1955.
Château Lassegue 2006
Beautiful ruby color. On the nose there are aromas of berry jam, a hint of roasted coffee and dark fruits, affirming a wine that tastes young. The savory tannins are round and ripe. In the mouth, this wine is very harmonious with an elegant finish, light and fresh, despite the wine’s power.
Château Haut-Segottes 2008
With its black raspberry nose, elegant style, and medium body, provides a nice, early drinking St. Emilion.
Château Grand Barrail Lamarzelle Figeac 2008
Fairly simple red with fresh, ripe plums and cherries. Some richness in the middle but lacking in length and depth on the mid palate. Fruit is vibrant and fresh – enjoy it young.
Château La Grave Figeac 2007
Although colorful, deep ruby color, full nose with notes of liquorice and fruity, full-bodied, structured, solid tannins, good material.
Priced at £20 per person and only 20 places to be sold book in early to avoid disappointment. To book, or to find out more information, please contact 0203 195 9621 or email email@example.com.
