Alexis’ June wine selection

 Rose:

Borsao Rosado 2012 Borja- SPAIN £ 6.00
Delicate pink colour, with aromas of strawberry jam. Off-dry and easy going, with soft red fruit on the palate and balanced acidity. To enjoy on its own.

Jean Paul Cuvée 2013 Pays des Côtes de Gascogne- FRANCE £ 7.00
Dry with plenty of fruit with some crunchy acidity on the finish. This is an easy drinking fresh rosé with real character.  Perfect for light bites

Rimauresq Cru Classé 2012 Côtes de Provence – FRANCE £ 14.25
Mediterranean Rosé at its very best. Delicate, scented and showing great finesse.
Perfect for Fish and Lamb grilled on the barbeque

Cape Heights 2012 Western Cape- SOUTH AFRICA £ 7.50
Cherry pink rosé displays delicate mineral aromas, with hints of cranberries and wild strawberries.   To enjoy with smocked mackerel rillette on a terrace.

Miraval 2012 Côtes de Provence- FRANCE £ 23.00
Very attractive and really quite vibrantly red-fruited nose. Floral and pretty, late spring in a glass. It’s also important in someway to precise that the winery is owned by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, under the serious winemaking direction of the Perrin familly
To enjoy in a sunny afternoon with a strawberry sorbet.

White:

Tomero Torrontes 2012 Mendoza- ARGENTINA £ 12.00
This fruity Torrontes from iconic winemaker Carlos Pulenta is a really refreshing wine with perfect balance of tropical fruit and acidity.  To enjoy with a feta cheese salad and fresh avocado.

• Vinazza Pinot Grigio, Garganega 2012 Venezie – ITALY £ 7.00
This wine is lightly aromatic with ripe citrus and baked apple characters, and a soft, honeyed sweetness.  Perfect for aperitifs

• Rezabal Txakoli 2012 Getariako Txakolina – SPAIN £ 16.50
It is both syrupy smooth and refreshing, with a slightly bitter finish which is typical of the variety.  To enjoy with a large seafood platter.

Cloud Factory Sauvignon Blanc 2013 Marlborough- NEW ZEALAND £ 11.00
Perfumed with nettle & ripe tropical fruits which are evident on the palate too along with limey flavours and a rich minerality – classic Marlborough Sauvignon.  To enjoy with light style of fish.

Jean Paul Cuvée 2013 Pays des Côtes de Gascogne- FRANCE £ 7.00
A lovely aromatic nose with zesty citrus and hints of stone fruit and a palate with lots of white nectarine, citrus and creamy characters balanced with a refreshing lemony acidity.

Red:

• Johanneshof Zweigelt 2013 Thermenregion- AUSTRIA £ 15.00
A firmly tannic wine, its dry core surrounded by dark plum skin and damson flavours.
To enjoy with pork chop on the BBQ. With just a touch of garlic butter.

Tyrrell`s Pinot Noir 2011 South-Eastern AUSTRALIA £ 11.00
Soft but generously flavoured wine with sweet aromas of berries and mushroom. The palate is long and concentrated with rich sweet fruit, subtle savoury oak support and smooth tannins.  A must with grilled sausages, onion chutney and mash.
